7- c Sub contrary b and c means I and O

8- 4 establishing viewpoint

Argument A thesis statement is a sentence in which you state an argument about a topic and then describe, briefly, how you will prove your argument. This is an argument, but not yet a thesis
Narrative statements are typically true stories that come from the author's personal life, but you can also write a narrative from experiences of other people.

11 3  Validity and Soundness. A deductive argument is said to be valid if and only if it takes a form that makes it impossible for the premises to be true and the conclusion nevertheless to be false. Otherwise, a deductive argument is said to be invalid
 It is common to drop the word deductive from the term deductively valid:

An argument is valid if the premises can’t all be true without the conclusion also being true.
  • An argument is valid if the truth of all its premises forces the conclusion to be true.
  • An argument is valid if it would be inconsistent for all its premises to be true and its conclusion to be false.
  • An argument is valid if its conclusion follows with certainty from its premises.
  • An argument is valid if it has no counterexample, that is, a possible situation that makes all the premises true and the conclusion false.

A deductive argument is an argument that is intended by the arguer to be deductively valid, that is, to provide a guarantee of the truth of the conclusion provided that the argument's premises are true.

12- 3 An ice breaker is an activity, game, or event that is used to welcome and warm up the conversation among participants in a meeting, training class, team building session, or another event. Any event that requires people to comfortably interact with each other and a facilitator is an opportunity to use an ice breaker.

An effective ice breaker will warm up the conversation in your training class or meeting, reinforce the topic of the session, and ensure that participants enjoy their interaction and the session.

16- 2 The zone of proximal development (ZPD) of a child is not a naturally existing phenomenon that arises by itself every time an adult helps a child achieve greater independence.
The relationship between a capable and an incapable individual or between a knowledgeable and an ignorant individual is a reduced form of the joint action that has the potential to create a ZPD
The choice of a teaching system is the choice of a direction for the development of a child (generation of children).

28- 2 Norm-referenced tests report whether test takers performed better or worse than a hypothetical average student, which is determined by comparing scores against the performance results of a statistically selected group of test takers, typically of the same age or grade level, who have already taken the exam.
Criterion-referenced tests and assessments are designed to measure student performance against a fixed set of predetermined criteria or learning standards—i.e., concise, written descriptions of what students are expected to know and be able to do at a specific stage of their education
Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) refers to a system of school-based evaluation of students that covers all aspects of students development. It is a developmental process of assessment which emphasizes on two fold objectives.
A formative evaluation (sometimes referred to as internal) is a method for judging the worth of a program while the program activities are forming (in progress). They can be conducted during any phase of the ADDIE process.

30- 3 A is false, R is correct
31- 2 A, B, D Urbanization and its impact on natural resources, environmental and land use and land cover changes, lead to the occurrence of natural hazards. The study was carried out in one of the rapid urbanization area
Natural hazards and major land-use/land-cover change can have significant impacts on humans around the world. If these two concerns exist together in a coastal area, the consequences for people and the environment may be severe

Some natural hazards can be provoked or affected by anthropogenic processes (e.g. land-use change, drainage and construction)

Effects of the Ozone Hole

  • Thinning of ozone layer means getting direct in touch with ultra violet rays which can cause skin cancer or skin irritation which can lead to death. A decrease in 1% of ozone layer can cause 5% increase in cases of skin cancer.
  • Exposure to UV rays has also increased the cases of cataracts which in turn affects people’s vision and could also cause an increase in people becoming blind.
  • Depletion of ozone layer and increase in UV rays can also cause DNA damage which can also be catastrophic.

Climate change affect natural disasters:
With increasing global surface temperatures the possibility of more droughts and increased intensity of storms will likely occur. As more water vapor is evaporated into the atmosphere it becomes fuel for more powerful storms to develop. More heat in the atmosphere and warmer ocean surface temperatures can lead to increased wind speeds in tropical storms. Rising sea levels expose higher locations not usually subjected to the power of the sea and to the erosive forces of waves and currents.

36- 4 Ethanol
biofuel is energy made from living matter, usually plants. Bioethanol, biodiesel, and biogas are types of biofuels. Biofuels are considered renewable energies, emit less than fossil fuels, and have received increasing attention in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Bioethanol (aka ethanol) is the most well know biofuel and is an alcohol produced from corn, sorghum, potatoes, wheat, sugar cane, even cornstalks and vegetable waste. It is commonly blended with gasoline.
Ethanol is a complicated issue, but overall is helping ease demand on fossil fuels. Brazil and the United States are the biggest exporters and consumers of ethanol.

Biodiesel is oil from plants or animals used as an alternative to or blended with petroleum diesel in automobiles and industrial fleets with diesel engines. The leading exporter of biodiesel (soy) is Argentina, who as of December 2013 filed a third WTO complaint against the European Union for putting steep import taxes on biodiesel, but is responding to demand elsewhere by increasing exports to the United States.
Biogas is created as a by-product of decomposing plant and animal waste in environments with low levels of oxygen: landfills, waste treatment facilities, and dairies. Biogas is made up primarily of methane and carbon dioxide (greenhouse gasses), thus the natural incentives are strong to keep biogas from entering the atmosphere. In practice, however, biogas is not captured and used as much as it should be despite being used for centuries. Biogas can be used for transportation, cooking, and electricity
37- 4 Many greenhouse gases occur naturally in the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor, and nitrous oxide, while others are synthetic. Those that are man-made include the chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and Perfluorocarbons (PFCs), as well as sulfur hexafluoride (SF6)
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) have no natural source, but were entirely synthesized for such diverse uses as refrigerants, aerosol propellants and cleaning solvents.
  Nitrous oxide emissions gets produced by both natural and human sources. Important natural sources include soils under natural vegetation and the oceans. Natural sources create 62% of total emissions. Important human sources come from agriculture, fossil fuel combustion and industrial processes. Human-related sources are responsible for 38% of total emissions.
Industrial sources (anthropogenic sources)
The three primary sources of NOx in combustion processes:
  • thermal NOx
  • fuel NOx
  • prompt NO.

Methane can come from many sources.  It is produced naturally in the environment, by animals, and as a result of human activity.Natural sources:
The most prominent natural source of methane is wetlands, hence its name ‘marsh gas’. It is produced when plants and other organic matter decompose in the absence of oxygen (anaerobically), such as when they are under water.
Methane from human-related activities
Methane emissions as a result of human activity are currently at around 320 million tonnes per year, far exceeding the levels from natural sources (250 million tonnes).
Fossil fuel industries are the main contributors to global methane emissions. Methane is released in to the atmosphere during the extraction of fossil fuels such as oil, coal and gas, as well as from natural gas pipelines

There are both natural and human sources of carbon dioxide emissions. Natural sources include decomposition, ocean release and respiration. Human sources come from activities like cement production, deforestation as well as the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas.
Since the Industrial Revolution, human sources of carbon dioxide emissions have been growing. Human activities such as the burning of oil, coal and gas, as well as deforestation are the primary cause of the increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere

38- 3 A, B, C, D
39- 1 AS PER ARTICLE 156 OF THE CONSTITUTION THE GOVERNOR HOLDS OFFICE TILL THE PRESIDENT SO WISHES. THE GOVERNOR CAN BE DISMISSED ANYTIME BY THE PRESIDENT.
The Supreme Court interpreted the constitutional provisions in the B. P. Singhal vs Union of India and laid down some binding guidelines:
The President, in effect the central government, has the power to remove a Governor at any time without giving him or her any reason, and without granting an opportunity to be heard.
However, this power cannot be exercised in an arbitrary, capricious or unreasonable manner.  The power of removing Governors should only be exercised in rare and exceptional circumstances for valid and compelling reasons.
The mere reason that a Governor is at variance with the policies and ideologies of the central government, or that the central government has lost confidence in him or her, is not sufficient to remove a Governor.  Thus, a change in central government cannot be a ground for removal of Governors, or to appoint more favorable persons to this post.
A decision to remove a Governor can be challenged in a court of law.  In such cases, first the petitioner will have to make a prima facie case of arbitrariness or bad faith on part of the central government.  If a prima facie case is established, the court can require the central government to produce the materials on the basis of which the decision was made in order to verify the presence of compelling reasons.
But, we recently have seen these guidelines being violated and it has happened time and again.

40 1 Winter pollution episodes are associated urban coal burning and vehicle emissions. The infamous London smog of 1952 was caused by smoke and sulphur dioxide from domestic heating and industrial emissions. However now in the UK they are more closely linked to gases from vehicle emissions. This type of air pollution occurs in urban areas where there is a large input of pollutants.

42 Suspended Fine Particles PM with particle sizes less than 10 microns, which are known as respirable suspended particulates or PM10, can get deep into the lungs and cause a broad range of health effects, in particular, respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses, including –
  •     Increasing respiratory symptoms, such as irritation of the air-ways, coughing, or difficulty in breathing;
  •     Decreasing lung function;
  •     Aggravation of asthma;
  •     Development of chronic bronchitis;
  •     Adverse effects on the cardiovascular system;
  •     Premature death in people with heart or lung disease.
People with heart or lung disease, children and the elderly are most likely to be affected by particulate pollution.

Forms of communication: Intrapersonal, Dyadic, Group, Public, Mass Communication

    Five major forms of communication : Intrapersonal Communication Dyadic Communication Small Group Communication Public Communication Mass Communication Intrapersonal communication is a communication which happens yourself. Here both Source (sender) and receiver is only one. so, the feedback works without any interruption. Example: A person can communicate himself through pain, thinking, feelings and emotion etc In Dyadic communication, two persons are involved in this communication process. Here the Source becomes a receiver and receiver become Source because of dynamic communication process were the feedback’s are shared between Source and the receiver. So  dyadic communication  is  communication  between two people or creatures. Here are some  examples : A conversation between two friends. An exchange of letters or emails.
