The University Grants Commission (UGC) has sought feedback from various stakeholders by February 28 on its draft regulations for appointment of teachers and other academic staff in universities and colleges. Download Draft Click Here The UGC’s proposed regulations (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in universities and colleges and measures for the maintenance of standards in higher education, 2018) lay down the minimum qualifications for appointment and other service conditions of university and college teachers and others. The National Eligibility Test (NET) will remain the minimum eligibility test for appointment of assistant professor and equivalent positions.
